It recently occurred to me that I put this blog to the side. Not that it’s not important to me because it definitely is but I had a more important goal I needed to check off my list and over a week ago I can proudly say I’ve accomplished. It’s such a bittersweet feeling to sit here and know that I finished. Officially a week after my graduation I felt a tinge of sadness that I wasn’t working toward this goal anymore. It’s funny how we put so much pressure on ourselves to get something done and when it’s over the satisfaction doesn’t last. As humans, we never seem to be satisfied with what we have. Although I felt uneasy I knew it was time for me to put all my efforts into my future and career. I honestly can’t give you a definitive answer as to where I see myself in 5 years but I just hope I’m doing something I love and am happy with the decisions I’ve made. Whether this blog and YouTube take off or I’m at a job that I’m passionate about, I can’t wait to see where my hard work takes me.

Thanks for listening and continuing to be a part of this blog! I hope you’re just as excited as I am about the new content that will be coming soon.

Spring has been slowly creeping up on us and although we’ve been getting slightly warmer weather we are still getting some colder days. To be honest I haven’t been in the floral and colorful mood and that’s why this look works for me. I have been loving the look of track pants lately and personally, I would have preferred a tucked-in graphic tee or turtleneck with this look but the hoodie just worked for this particular day. I’m not one to just wear an outfit for a shoot, if you see it here either I’ve worn this look already and decided to shoot it, I was wearing it that day or I plan on wearing it. I hate to follow blogs where I’m looking at outfits that are unrealistic for my lifestyle. Sometimes it’s pretty to look at or inspires a specific style but all in all, I want to see a look that I can see myself actually wearing. This will tell you a lot about my personality, I don’t like to fake relationships, I don’t like to pretend that I’m someone that I’m not and I usually will tell it like it is. I apply that same way of thinking to my blog and content. Sometimes I find that doing YouTube videos can come across slightly fake because I am trying to be more professional in that setting and being on camera can sometimes create an altered image but I am working toward feeling more comfortable with letting my personality show as transparent as I can. As I grow as a person and in this social world I want to continue to show my readers and viewers that I’m just a woman from New York City who happens to have a passion for sharing my interests with like-minded people. I will continue to grow and I hope those of you that are reading this will continue following along with me.

This became a bit more personal of a post than I thought it would be but I hope you enjoyed and check out the links for the products I’m wearing and also some similar options below.

Wearing: Gucci T-shirt (similar) | H&M Faux Leather Pants | Helmut Lang Jacket | Stuart Weitzman Heels | Vintage Gucci Bag

Gucci t-shirts have become a huge trend recently and I’ve had this one for years. I typically don’t wear red but it was nice to switch it up a bit for once. I love the look of a casual t-shirt with leather pants and some heels.

ps. my toes were definitely freezing during this shoot.

Wearing: Vintage Fur Coat | H&M Jeans | Splendid Turtleneck | Zara Boots | Vintage Chanel Bag | Switched to: Zara Backpack

For a while now I’ve been in a fashion rut, this happens to me from time to time. I feel stuck in wearing the same things and I seem to lose my sense of style. I think this happens to all of us and unfortunately, it can become hard to get out of that rut. The best way for me to get inspired is to look at my closet and reevaluate my options if that means to throw some things out then so be it. Nothing can dampen an uninspired wardrobe like uninspiring clothing. A great rule of thumb is if it doesn’t make you happy and if you haven’t worn it in 6-8 months then more than likely you should toss it.

This look was inspired by this jacket! I found it at a vintage store last year and granted it doesn’t come out of my closet too often, for good reason but it’s one of the best gems I’ve found. It’s a statement piece and one that I believe will be in my wardrobe for years and years to come. I paired them with some flared denim that fit me like a glove! This look gave me a push and definitely inspired me to put up some more looks.

btw: if you’ve been with me for a while then I know you’ve noticed my absence from time to time. I finally sat down and created a realistic schedule and editorial calendar for my blog and if all goes as planned you’ll be seeing outfit posts every Monday and Friday and a beauty post every Wednesday and possibly a few others sprinkled in-between. Thanks for continuing to stick with me!

I shared some options similar below if you’d like to take a swing at this look…

I can’t believe the holidays are here! Christmas is in less than a week and I haven’t even completed my Christmas shopping, actually, I’ve barely started it. I wanted to help any of you that are out there last minute shopping like I am. All of these gifts can be great options for the gal in your life that is either a home body, a fashion enthusiast, or your typical beauty junkie. The prices range from $10 to $1000 which gives you plenty of options to play with. As the fall season has begun I can’t help but want to add some new pieces to my wardrobe and I always start with some things I am lusting over and create looks from there. These are a few looks that can easily be worn multiple different ways but stand out alone as well.

LOOK 1 (left): Velvet and plaid are always fun to play into the fall season and pairing them together really seems to work. Specifically a grayish plaid is a really great current trend to look out for. I also love this top and it is also a current must have because of its off the shoulder detail. Pairing this look with a statement choker that has a large buckle definitely adds some edge to it and also these teal wrap around shoes are the perfect addition. I have this Opening Ceremony clutch/messenger in white with gold hardware but I think this all black leather one goes great with this look.

LOOK 2: Mixing different textures and fabrics is my favorite and fall is the perfect season for this! I love the ribbed mustard top paired with this long wool skirt. To break up this look a little I love the idea of adding a leather corset belt. This one is beautiful because of the intricate detailing and buckles. Throwing an oversized jean jacket over top would be perfect and these navy slides and you’re good to go with a look that will turn heads.

LOOK 3: This outfit excites me so much! I love pairing structured workwear for more casual attire. These olive trousers are amazing and I’d throw on a matching olive tight fitting turtleneck and this long navy vest-coat with some all white sneakers. I think adding the sneakers makes the look very casual but also adds a coolgirl vibe.

LOOK 4: Jumper dresses are very on trend right now and I think they are so cute. I love the idea of incorporating suede or corderoy into these jumpers. In order to make the look a little less school girl I think a knitted bootie would pair perfectly with this look.

I hope my little fall style vision board gives you inspiration on what to look for when shopping this fall! I’ve included multiple styles and options below for similar looks.

Wearing: Vintage Champion Mens Shirt (similar here or here) | Y-3 Sneakers | Louis Vuitton Alma Purse | Aviator Glasses (similar)

This will probably be my last post without a jacket. I shot this look before this recent shift in weather. It’s been so gloomy lately, New York is starting to feel like Seattle. The sun is actually showing face for the first time today. I feel like I’m always reporting the weather, ha! Since I’m only 4’11 it’s easy for me to pull off wearing a T-shirt as a dress, others aren’t so lucky so I’d definitely recommend wearing a spandex skirt underneath. Throwing an oversized jean jacket or even a camo jacket would look great with this look for fall. These aviator glasses have been such a trend lately, I wore them in an outfit post earlier this summer (here) and I loved the look. Champion is another oldie but goodie that made a major comeback over the past two years. The classic vibe that they brought back to the brand is amazing, although this particular piece is vintage. I threw on my trusty Louis Vuitton Alma and my new Y-3’s that I featured in my birthday haul (here).

Hope you enjoyed the post! Are there any trends you’d like me to sample on my blog for fall?

Hey… I’m back with a second post this week, I’m on a roll! Another left over from summer that I wanted to bring in with me to the fall season is delicate pieces like lace camisole and slip dresses. I posted a look a few months ago pairing a slip dress with a t-shirt underneath and now I figured I’d do the same with this lingerie-esque piece. I’ve had this sitting in my closet for way too long and never found an appropriate occasion to wear it because I’m not one to go too far with risque items like a lace camisole. Now that summer is over, it’s much easier to pair two unlikely pieces like this without sweating your ass off. I paired this with my denim cutoffs because it was still a bit warm when I shot this and some suede booties from last fall. I would have loved to throw a motorcycle jacket on top of this, but I’m no fool and couldn’t justify sweating for the shot, but I left some options for jackets below if you’re interested.

What are some trends you’re looking forward to wearing this fall?

fullsizeoutput_14As we are still in the transition season, I could never decide if I should wear pants or dresses. I’m sure we all don’t live in the same location, but we’re all going through the change of season whether slightly or dramatically. Here in New York it’s been really beautiful, about 70’s during the day and drops to the high 60’s at night. I’ve been throwing jackets on top of my summer blouses and dresses and jeans with lighter tops. This is one look I frequent, I love pairing shorts with a jacket. For this look I decided to go with denim on denim which is a trend that rarely goes out of style and currently oversized denim jackets are all the rage. I wore it with a nude bodysuit and some new balance sneakers.

I’m so excited to start throwing jackets over my looks, although I love the summer I’m so excited for Fall and the festivities that come along with it. I’m already planning my weekends around pumpkin/apple picking, vineyards, haunted houses, and staying home watching my favorite fall movies like Hocus Pocus, Halloween (the first 7 that is!), Scream, The Craft, and Casper. I’m also so excited to decorate my home for Fall. I’m thinking of doing a few posts about that so stay tuned!
