Makeup Monday: Quench Your Skin

This cold weather has given my skin a beating and I have been searching for an item that would quench my skin without me having to apply a thick moisturizer under my makeup. I have oily skin so I like to apply lightweight moisturizers. On Black Friday I picked up a $10 set from Origins and this drink up intensive mask was included. I’ve used it for two weeks and I already see the difference. I apply it overnight after I’ve cleansed and applied my regular moisturizer and I wash it off in the morning with a wet cloth and it leaves my skin looking so healthy and hydrated. This is a sample size but once I’m finished with it I’m going to run out and pick up a full size. Definitely a skin quencher! You can purchase this mask at Sephora here.

What would you like me to discuss next Makeup Monday? Leave any suggestions in the comments!

Makeup Monday: Holiday Gift Guide for the Girliest of Girls

Another week has come and gone… can’t believe how much time has flew by. We have about a month until Christmas and I thought for this weeks post I’d share a gift guide to get you started on some ideas on what to get for the beauty obsessed gals in your life.

1. Soap & Glory Full Clean Ahead ($25): I’ve used every single item in this set and I’ve fallen in love with each one. This is such a great combination of products! It includes clean on me which is their shower gel, the righteous butter which is their body butter and lastly their hand food hand cream. All of these products are highly moisturizing and smell amazing plus it also comes with a nice zip up pouch.

2. YSL Rouge Volupte Lipsticks ($35): These lipsticks speak for themselves, anyone that uses lipstick would be excited to receive one of these as a gift. The packaging is super luxurious and the lipstick itself is so moisturizing.

3. Urban Decay Full Frontal Lipstick Stash Set ($39): If option #2 seems a bit of a small gift then I would recommend picking up this set of lipsticks from Urband Decay. This set has a great variety of colors and these lipsticks wear very well.

4. Diptyque Genevrier 5 Candle Winter Coffret ($75): For those who love their homes to smell amazing I would definitely recommend this set of candles. Diptyque is one the higher end candle scents but their scents are unique and have such a strong aroma that they are well worth the money!

5. The NARSissist Cheek Kit ($49): Cheek palettes can be difficult to purchase for someone else but I have found that this trio of shades works well with tons of different skin tones and is an easy palette for everyday use.

6. Chanel Retractable Kabuki Brush ($70): If you want to splurge on something this is the perfect gift that I think any beauty girl would love. Who doesn’t need a powder brush for on the go?! This one is just extra beautiful because hello it’s Chanel.

7. Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows + Trio Palette ($44): The best shadows on the market right now and definitely on the list of anyone who has a love for makeup. These artist shadows are perfection, you can pick them up from Sephora and if you purchase the trio palette with 3 shadows you can basically get one shadow free as the retail for each shadow individually is $21.

These are items that are either on my list or are things that I have used and loved. I hope this helps you pick out the perfect gift for either your sister, friend, girlfriend or anyone beauty obsessed.

I’ll be back on Wednesday so check back for an outfit post!

Makeup Monday’s (New series)

Happy Monday! I hope you all had an amazing weekend. I woke up to a late start this morning and literally had to zoom off to get to work. Unfortunately I am working on this fine Columbus Day with a bit of a cold. In light of the day I decided to start a new series on the blog! I’m excited to start this because it will allow me to add some more content to the site. Normally I’d only have one or two outfit posts and sometimes a YouTube video but now I’ll have a scheduled day to discuss all things beauty. I will continue to follow the rest of the week with fashion related posts, no worries. Now let’s move onto the this weeks post…

Lately I’ve noticed how much I’ve been using the same products. I found a few that I would consider “holy grail”. Here they are!

I know I named this series Makeup Monday’s but I will not limit this to only makeup but more beauty products so you might see a perfume or skincare product here or there – fyi.

1. Prada Candy L’Eau: I’ve spritzed this bad boy on so many times this month, I’m surprised I have so much left. To be honest I’m not the greatest at pinpointing perfume scents so here are the notes as detailed on the Sephora website: White Musks, Benzoin, Caramel, Citrus, Oriental Florals.

2. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara: I own the mini size because I wanted to test out the mascara before I commit to buying it full price.  This mascara is very black, lengthening and adds fullness without being clumpy. Definitely my favorite mascara to date.

3. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal: gahhhh! Theres not enough good things to say about this highlighter. It is so creamy yet it gives such an even overall glow without being glittery. Believe the hype.

4. Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Daringly Nude: I wear this lipstick nonstop. I did a review on these lipsticks on my YouTube channel. They are such creamy matte lipsticks, hence the name and so highly pigmented.

5. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush: the perfect flush!

6. Softlipes Cube: I’ve been using this everyday since I received this in my influenster vox box. It’s super moisturizing and NOT greasy. There’s nothing worse than a greasy lip balm.

8. NYX Matte Lipstick in Euro Trash: another lip product but I’ve been rotating between Maybellines daringly nude and this lipstick. It’s sort of that Kylie Jenner inspired lip color.

What are your current favorite beauty products? And what would you like me to discuss next Makeup Monday?  Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
