MAKING IT HAPPEN

It recently occurred to me that I put this blog to the side. Not that it’s not important to me because it definitely is but I had a more important goal I needed to check off my list and over a week ago I can proudly say I’ve accomplished. It’s such a bittersweet feeling to sit here and know that I finished. Officially a week after my graduation I felt a tinge of sadness that I wasn’t working toward this goal anymore. It’s funny how we put so much pressure on ourselves to get something done and when it’s over the satisfaction doesn’t last. As humans, we never seem to be satisfied with what we have. Although I felt uneasy I knew it was time for me to put all my efforts into my future and career. I honestly can’t give you a definitive answer as to where I see myself in 5 years but I just hope I’m doing something I love and am happy with the decisions I’ve made. Whether this blog and YouTube take off or I’m at a job that I’m passionate about, I can’t wait to see where my hard work takes me.

Thanks for listening and continuing to be a part of this blog! I hope you’re just as excited as I am about the new content that will be coming┬ásoon.

GOODBYE 2016 / CHEERS 2017

It’s been a whirlwind of a year and I’m thrilled to welcome the new year. I’ve had my share of ups and downs in 2016 but I can’t wait to see what 2017 has to offer. I have a few goals I am focused on accomplishing soon and I love making a list of them in the beginning of the year that I can check off. I love the feeling of checking things off my list! The best tip I can give you for focusing on your goals is to get a planner and start organizing your life. I also recommend downloading an app like ‘notebook‘ to make to do lists, write notes, sketches and more to keep your ideas organized.

I can’t wait to keep growing my blog and focusing more time on it this year. Thank you for staying with me and continuing to follow along with my blog, instagram and Snapchat.

Cheers to the new year! čąéčŹż

THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR

Hello readers, I wanted to come on here and quickly wish you all a Merry Christmas and or Happy Holidays! It’s such a hectic time of year and I myself have caught myself being frustrated over traffic, long lines, last-minute shopping and the attitudes of others during this time, but sometimes we need to pause and put into perspective what these holidays truly mean to us. Spending time with our loved ones and showing them how much you love them is what it’s all about. Gift giving can be fun but it’s important to know that gifts aren’t the most important thing. I’m going to keep this short and sweet so I can go ahead and enjoy the time I have with my family but I want to let all my readers know that I appreciate all the love you show me on here and my social media accounts and I hope that this year my blog can continue to grow in the direction I am envisioning.

Again, happy holidays!

MIAMI RECAP

Going away is definitely one of my favorite things to do, and Miami is also one of my favorite cities to get away to. I love the tropical feel that the lively city of Miami exudes. I was only there for a weekend for a friend’s birthday and we had no definite plans other than to eat, drink and relax. It turned more into a weekend of mayhem! We got carried away with the drinks within the first few hours and lets just say it led me to knock out for 12 complete hours and wake up at 4am to drink again. Hey! I’m still in my 20’s so that’s what weekend trips are for, right?

The rest of the weekend went a little more smoothly, but still filled with a large amount of drinking, dancing and some more eating. We took so many videos and if you follow me on snapchat (idaisyd) then you would have seen the chaos that occurred, it’s all laughs and memories now. I loved every minute of last weekend and can’t wait to take another trip like that. I’m back to reality now, which means papers, exams, work and barely any fun but that’s okay. I enjoy being back on the grind and it just gives me more of a push to take my next trip.

If you end up traveling to Miami I would definitely recommend:

TO STAY: Rent an AirBnB in one of the high rise condos.

TO EAT: The Daily Creative Food (Breakfast), Puerto Sagua (Lunch), Scarpetta @ Fontainebleau Hotel (Dinner)

TO DRINK: The Broken Shaker, Basement

Hope this helps if you’re thinking of going to Miami soon.

TRANSITION SEASON

Back to school, back to NYFW, and back to life. Unfortunately summer has come to an end and when I say summer I mean the days where I can take a beach day or go on a random night out. That time has come to a close for me because the fall semester has commenced and this is my last year in college. I have a ton on my plate, and although I had planned so much for summer posts for my blog and YouTube, none of that worked out the way I thought it would. I posted here and there, but my lack of consistency is very evident. I’m taking 6 classes, working and going to the gym at least 3-4 times a week which leaves little to no time to work on content. However, for some reason this is the time of year I find most of my inspiration and energy to post content for you guys.

I received a number of┬áNYFW invites and I’m trying to squeeze them into my tight schedule, but realistically won’t be sure of my attendance until the day before. This is unfortunate, but is the same thing that has happened to me for the past seasons. I also have a weekend trip to Miami coming up in a little over a week which I am thrilled about. I haven’t been on a plane since January in the Philippines so I can’t wait. I will definitely be vlogging/shooting out there for my YouTube and blog so keep on the lookout for that.

As for what to expect in this new season… I posted a Back to School Makeup Tutorial┬árecently, but also will be posting a ‘What’s in my School Bag?’ video, fall outfit inspirations, OOTD’s, product reviews, new beauty routines and much more!

Thanks for listening to my little rant and if you have  any specific requests for posts, please leave them in the comments.

WKND RECAP

Guess who got sick this past weekend? I was hoping to have a weekend filled with prepping content but felt like complete crap. Shame on me for not pushing through it but, with allergies and a cold I saw no way out. I’m finally feeling better and decided to give you a quick update on what I’ve been up to. Aside from being sick it was my goddaughters 1st birthday this weekend so I had to pull myself out of bed and shower her with love. The theme of her birthday was Alice in Wonderland and her mom pretty much nailed it with the cutest decor. I snapped a few pics below, otherwise I went to brunch on Sunday at a new spot my boyfriend and I have been frequent to. We found this spot for the $1 oysters which I believe I mentioned on a previous post but they do a pretty good brunch as well, that is if you’re up for the wait (Mominette in Bushwick).

Hopefully I’ll have more to share with Spring break coming up.

GOALS, NO RESOLUTIONS

goals

Happy New Year! It’s been quite a rollercoaster, I’ve learned a lot about life and myself this year. Accomplished a few of my goals and can happily welcome the new year with open arms. Although I don’t entertain the idea of ‘new year, new me’, I do like to think that it’s a fresh start to accomplish new goals we make for ourselves. It satisfies me to check things off my list at the end of each year.

Here are a few things I set out to do in this coming year:
