MIAMI RECAP

Going away is definitely one of my favorite things to do, and Miami is also one of my favorite cities to get away to. I love the tropical feel that the lively city of Miami exudes. I was only there for a weekend for a friend’s birthday and we had no definite plans other than to eat, drink and relax. It turned more into a weekend of mayhem! We got carried away with the drinks within the first few hours and lets just say it led me to knock out for 12 complete hours and wake up at 4am to drink again. Hey! I’m still in my 20’s so that’s what weekend trips are for, right?

The rest of the weekend went a little more smoothly, but still filled with a large amount of drinking, dancing and some more eating. We took so many videos and if you follow me on snapchat (idaisyd) then you would have seen the chaos that occurred, it’s all laughs and memories now. I loved every minute of last weekend and can’t wait to take another trip like that. I’m back to reality now, which means papers, exams, work and barely any fun but that’s okay. I enjoy being back on the grind and it just gives me more of a push to take my next trip.

If you end up traveling to Miami I would definitely recommend:

TO STAY: Rent an AirBnB in one of the high rise condos.

TO EAT: The Daily Creative Food (Breakfast), Puerto Sagua (Lunch), Scarpetta @ Fontainebleau Hotel (Dinner)

TO DRINK: The Broken Shaker, Basement

FROM FAR AWAY —

Processed with VSCOcam with s1 preset

I’ve pretty much been MIA since the New Year and that is because I was on vacation in the Philippines for two and a half weeks. It was amazing to go away and experience an entirely different country and culture. I am excited to be back home although a bit jet lagged, but definitely refreshed and ready to get back to my blog and everyday life.

SAN FRAN.

About two weeks ago now I went to visit my sister in San Francisco, she moved out there about 8 months ago and I missed her so much. Being that I was on a short break from school I decided I needed a break from New York. I wish I had went on a tropical vacation because it was kind of chilly out there but I had a great time otherwise.

MIA.

I’ve been absent from my blog for a little over two weeks, it wasn’t my intention to take such a long hiatus but life happens. Lately I’ve just really needed a break from it all. At times we get so busy with our daily routine and forget that we should be looking to overcome that routine and try to reach higher. I have so much I wish to accomplish and all the excuses stop right here…

On a brighter note I just returned from A quick trip to Miami for my sisters 30th. It was an all girls trip and I had such a great time. I brought my camera with me to shoot and forgot the battery so I didn’t get to shoot as I had planned but did get a few snaps on my iPhone. You can see a bunch of these photos on my Instagram but I thought I’d share some on here…

Back soon!

Tom-Boy

On my last day in LA, I went to see the Hollywood sign and explored a little piece of Downtown. There were so many cute little shops which is where I found some of those Asian beauty products which I featured in my latest haul video. It was a great closing to our short time in this city and I really can’t wait to go back. I kept it very casual that day because I knew we’d be doing a lot of walking. I love to go a bit tomboy from time to time and boyfriend style shorts are definitely one of my favorite ways to incorporate a little bit of a masculine style, this time I even added some boxers. Not something I would typically do but why not try something new!

LA.

I love New York and it will always be home but many people have told me that LA is a warmer version of NYC.  That being said I’d always been intrigued to see if that was true. Although LA is gorgeous and seems to have perfect weather, there is no place like home. Although it could be a close second…

Santa Monica Pier

Continuing on with my journey through the west coast I wanted to share with you my time at Santa Monica Pier. It reminds me a little bit of Coney Island but a much cleaner version (lol). It is filled with people, most seem to be tourists; however it wasn’t too over crowded. I will definitely be coming back the next time I’m in Cali.

San Francisco!

Top: Zara (Old) / Jeans: H&M / Espadrilles: H&M / Purse: Phillip Lim for Target (Check eBay here) / Sunglasses: Chanel

As discussed I will be sharing with you all parts of my trip! Since the trip was split into three cities we had to make the most out of each day there and because our first day was spent mostly traveling and eating we had to make up for lost time. My boyfriend and I met up with some friends that live in San Francisco and they were able to show us a great view, take us to a finger licking good food spot and thrifting on Haight Street! I would say that sums up a great second day.

Here are some photos taken throughout the day…

First stop:

Twin Peaks

Two hills in the center of San Francisco — an amazing view of the city!

Second stop:

FOOD!

We ate at San Tung #2. These are by far the best wings I’ve ever tasted. Looking at this photo is making my mouth water! If you have ever had Bon Chon then these are comparable but I think San Tung is definitely better. Wish I could’ve taken some home…

Third stop:

Haight Street

I visited Wasteland and a few other thrift shops on Haight and was pleasantly surprised at how much more selection they have versus New York. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you’re ever in San Francisco.

* Haul coming soon

I had such a great time in Frisco and can’t wait to go back; next time I will be bringing a jacket along. Thanks for showing us around Jerry and Ferl.
